Weezer dropped their newest record “SZNZ: Summer” and this is my review of it.
Weezer is halfway through their “SZNZ” project which encompasses 4 albums, each one based on a separate season of the year. Their previous record was the spring installment which I harbor no strong feelings for. This album, as the title would suggest, is based around the season of summer. To reflect this, the album carries a rock sound not far from the sound of their White Album, released in 2016.Now, what do I think of this album? I think this may be their best album in a while, since at least the aforementioned white album. it sounds very similar to their 2021 album “Van Weezer” but much harsher. unfortunately no album is perfect (unless paramore made it) and this is no exception. a few of the songs in the middle I don’t believe are as memorable as the others. with this, I grant Summer an 8/10. I hope the future SZNZ records will keep Weezer’s winning streak going.

my personal favorite track on this album is closer “Thank You And Good Night”
