Here we are again, another interview in and we’ve got someone who you may or may not know a lot about, he’s the supervisor / assistant head of the site log, the top-hat wearing, animator non-animator himself, MannyAnims !
Welcome Manny, good to have you on this, this would be your first time seeing the interview stuff properly I imagine, It’s been a while since last assortment of interviews so I’m glad I get to have the opportunity to interview you.

We got to start with the most important questions of all of course, how are you doing today? Let the people know who you are, give us a little insight into ‘ MannyAnims ‘. You’ve been known to be a little misaligned with your namesake, not animating much despite names saying otherwise, but we’ve seen a little resurgence even in that lately.

What brought you to the Stick Nodes? Was there any divine calling for you or was it more of a on the moment spur from boredom?

Do you think since your time of joining compared to now you feel you’ve transitioned either a little or a lot as a person? You’ve come a long way since your early days and have turned things around quite nicely.

Is the SN RPG going to make a return at some point?

Was there any reason in particular that you decided to join the site log? it’s been over a year since your first entry on 5th February 2023, you’re the second longest running contributor since the site log began, that’s pretty awesome!

Do you feel that the impact of doing site log’s each week for a year or so has had any affect on your day-to-day arrangements? maybe any other impact elsewhere?

Would you say despite your past reputation with animation you’d ever fully swing into it? Even maybe just a little bit, it’s not unheard of that Stick Node users don’t dabble in Stick Nodes so much but I thought I’d ask anyway

Hey lemon! Honored to have an interview, thanks for doing this! I shall get into answering the questions now
1. I’m doing great today! Had to wake up a bit early to get our pool prepared for summer, but we made a pizza afterwards and overall the day is going smoothly so far. Also of course I animate! (Once a year, at least). Hope you have a great day too!
2. What brought me to Sticknodes? Animating interested me, but not the hand drawn kind, I was looking for a program that I could do puppet like, rigged animation since I didn’t know how to draw. No idea something like pivot existed (didn’t have a computer of my own at the time anyways) so I searched the AppStore and eventually found a free app called Sticknodes. Thought I’d give it a shot and downloaded it. I used to animate quite a ton, and eventually found the website. Made an account, and got in trouble for talking to strangers online so now I do it in secret (I’m so mischevious)
3. I’d say I transitioned quite a lot. Not only would I say I’m as annoying as I used to be, but the people here were a good influence and I think I gained a bit more common sense as well as made some good friends
4. Not too sure, I was making good progress at first but as I went along I realized the engine I was using was quite limited, eventually I learned I couldn’t do the things I wanted and I had a lot of trouble getting ideas and motivation so I quietly canceled it in the discord server. It might make a return when I bring myself to learn godot (if it happens, i have a huge motivation problem [laziness]).
5. I thought it’d be pretty cool and since I use the site often I thought I’d do my part. I’m glad I did since it’s been a blast so far! Been great working along side you and other contributors, and logging the site so I can look back on previous moments.
6. It hasn’t impacted it much, I do have to check the site more often to remind people about their day so they don’t forget and I have to take some time when I go to bed to do my entry but that time I would’ve been doing not too important stuff anyway. It has impacted me in other ways as it’s taught me a thing or two about commitment.
7. I might, I occasionally animate (there was a period of time where I made quite a few micro animations) but a big problem is giving up when the animation looks poorly and also just the commitment it takes to get good at animating, I definitely do want to challenge myself to animate more, the summer might be a good time for that.

9. Honestly? Not much, you’ve done a great job managing it so far. I would make the monthly log entry thing by putting them on daily so it’s easier for myself. I used to not like the emoji requirement but I made a template for myself so I don’t forget them.
10. 5 years? In that amount of time I might actually grow an inch. Jokes aside, I can definitely see myself still using Sticknodes in 5 years. I’ve made a lot of friends here and I’ll want to still stay in touch and talk. Things change though so I have no way of knowing for sure but I definitely don’t want to leave this place. Also hopefully in 5 years I would have learned a valuable skill such as programming, game development, or 3D modeling.
11. Coca Cola, I love it maybe a bit too much. I love the bottles (have a bunch of them at home, drink one on Saturday and and one on Sunday, rest of the days I just drink water since it’s not the best for you, lmao) and also coke you get at restaurants where they use the dispensers.
12. I appreciate both, Birthday money I definitely like since I can use it to buy things and also video games. There are also gifts I really love, this year for my birthday I got some cool marvel shirts (wearing one right now) and a Wii classic controller.
13. Ralph, I wanna be a deadbeat ✨. Jokes aside, I don’t know actually.
14. I would feed my VR addiction, get the best headset I can and the best PC I can get, try out some good games and mods I couldn’t normally run. I would also get a decent house when I’m older, not too big like a mansion, just decent size and quality, probably similar to the one I live in right now. I’d also probably donate money to my friends since it’s infinite and hope I don’t get in trouble with the IRS.
15. I aspire to be a programmer or game developer, I think. Or a McDonalds employee!!

Good to hear you are well, it always seems like such positive news with you, great to hear. That’s awesome you made Pizza, funnily enough my brother has been getting into making pizza too, way cheaper than fast food. Lots of stuff about programming and more from what we’ve spoke of here, hopefully you get something somewhere down the line, I’m studying it myself and it can be a lot of fun.
