『⠀Stickfigure animations.. Overpowered ability fight scenes- DBZ esque OR steadier more realistic style content- Military esque style. Which do you prefer? and why?⠀』
I’m honestly on the fence with this because in most circumstances I don’t really enjoy military style animations where you got Alpha Delta Red Squadron trying to collect the intelligence from the terrorist group, La Ultima Supenda 31 ( Fictional examples ) although the ridiculousness of OC battles is too much for me, it feels too blown out of proportion and a lot of animators get lazy basically so they add a barrage or something of that nature to fill the gaps.
Listen, there are different elements to both where what I’ve covered is still completely fine ( Keeping in mind this is all a matter of opinion anyway ) but seeing some animations fall flat because whilst the animating is good the overall backing elements fall flat or vice-versa.
I cant say I like or hate either. Both has their pros and cons.
Gun fights suffer from unrealistic aim, infinite ammo, or simply done unrealisticaly between two parties.
Super powered fights suffer from one or both parties power level fluxuating, becoming a incomprehensible fist fight, or displays the power apparently being planet destroying but only kicks up dirt. Or crack the nearest rock.
Best super powered fight scene (imo) is Sonic The Hedgehog 3.
Them flying so fast literally caused mountains to move away, causing a giant lava cavern in the Earth.
Although it did still slightly suffer from the “Just kicks up dirt” issue (Like when Sonic punched Shadow into space, entire mountain should be gone.)
But it displayed what that type of force would cause the best imo.
Ik Man of Steel has fight scenes like that, but I havent seen it so I can’t say anything.

Wait- pause one god damn second. You haven’t seen Man of Steel?
Bro, get on that shit ASAP because god damn, it’s all so good. Even the music, I hit a deadlift PR listening to ‘ Flight ‘ after failing it the first attempt. That’s just proof the film is amazing.

I mean, I dont doubt the fights, music, visuals and all of that are amazing.
But I’m a heavy character and story person, Zack hasn’t ever really been the best at that. So I always been thinking the movie would just be mid considering that.

That’s fair and I can see why you’d have that stance. I’m not picky at all and usually my movie interpretive skills are about as good as a toddlers but I liked it for its overall meaning and representation.
He may not have been accurate to certain aspects and they could’ve worked on some things but in terms of awe and providing a meaningful set of concepts and overall banger music and fight scenes, they absolutely delivered.
I like that some studios even if they fuck up basically they can still provide an interpretation to character and people can pick it apart and basically create an indirect vague outline of what to do and what not to do.
I don’t watch a ton of Stick Nodes animations nowadays (though I’d like to), but I’ve never really been into military and gun stuff much at all, and most of the military animations I see posted here just don’t appeal to me. Whereas I’ve been into superpowers and superheroes for some time now, especially recently, and the fictional universe that exists mostly in my head leans much more in this direction.

I just now realized this post was about stickfigure animations….

Love them both for different reasons, though to be honest I’ve not seen a stick figure animation in ages…
