This unity stuff is difficult, considering how much I know about game creating (nothing) it is very difficult to navigate around and to know what exactly to do.

It is a very slow tedious process.

today I revisited it and tried to see what I can do, only to see that I barely made any progress. I managed to import some assets (basically everything) but it wasn’t working very well so ultimately I achieved nothing.

I will attempt this again next time.

    • I know that feeling. Try following tutorials and replicating game. Then trying your own thing.

But I moved to unreal engine. More intuitive I think.

There’s series on making fps shooter in unreal engine and it helps getting into it a lot. Though my progress is halted at adding Animations atm.

I’ve heard this stuff before when it comes to trying to replicate a project but I didn’t have enough time. I will try it again when I have the chance.

I got into gamedev back before it was cool so idk how it goes nowadays in the era of youtube and tutorials for everything under the sun

but that’s the route I’d go, follow a tutorial on making a simple game, you learn as you go

*then* try to do your own thing after

like (quick search result here) this one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5M7vX_z6B9I

also definitely try 2d before 3d, I’d say, but idk unity too well (at all) so what do i know
