Basically this thing is called the bobbitbeast, it’s kinda like a giant mutant hybrid of a bobbitworm and an anglerfish, it uses its angler to grab a person, and paralyzes them, repurposing them into a lure, they sink down into the ground once they grab someone, sending chemicals to make them scream for help, to lure someone over, and once another person gets too close, they get clamped, and then the bobbitbeast eats the old lure and uses the person it just caught as a new lure
they are built for long times without food, having numerous fat reserves, they’re mostly blind, using scent to detect prey, and if they use up all their reserves, they go into a “rage” where they will aggressively devour their lure, and then rush out of their hiding spot to grab someone and drag them away and use them as a lure, before returning to their hiding spot, and just going back to normal.
