I reread IHNMAINS and I was legit baffled how anyone took the book seriously. It’s a good story, but personally i found it too miserable to really be scary and I felt exceedingly disappointed. I expected some sort of body horror o some king in yellow stuff with the way it was hyped up, but what I read was WAY over the top. It basically felt like torture-porn, and that was it. Earlier in the story, I noticed what I thought was allusion to Dantes Inferno, but it never really went anywhere. My thoughts on the story just made it seem shallow and vaguely fetishistic. The game on the other hand was quite enjoyable and I liked how they got rid of Benny being a monkey with a big [REDACTED]. I like how the game even has a bittersweet ending.
Overall I give it 6 Nanoangstroms out of 10
