The thing is that Kiryu I guess storywise, doesn’t really have any superpowers, he just fights good.
Imo I thought Kiryu and Jotaro were similar people, except Kiryu is a little older, by 3 years, and fights normally. Not to mention he shot down a helicopter with a pistol -

I agree but this was still a really odd statement.
Jotaro has a Stand and is your average Japanese guy with a temper.
Kiryu is a Yakuza and has various combos and ability move sets along with various weapons so as for content he offers a lot more than Jotaro. As for personality they are quite similar only difference is Kiryu is the more realistic depiction of a tough Japanese guy whereas Jotaro is only seen as some tough guy who always knows what to say and shows little to no emotion.
Jotaro is far more comical for personality and ability (star platinum) than Kiryu is.

Not necessarily that Kiryu is just badass and Jotaro uses his stand only to win in a situation.
Jotaro can think critically, he can keep his cool in a dire situation so he can handle it and come out victorious, it’s also how he managed to survive so long in the story.
Kiryu isn’t just badass he has has experience with the whole Yakuza and criminal life style along with honing various other skills.
