so gavinnn newsommm just passed a bill that bars teachers from telling a students parents about them coming out
as much as i wish that gavin fucking dies i actually agree with this bill because if a kid comes out to their teacher that probably means that they arent comfortable telling their parents
my mom and I got in an argument about this bc she was all like “ermmm, i should know everything about my child 🤓”as true as that is, some kids just arent ready to come out or are in circumstances that dont allow them to

I dont think a parent should know everything about their kids lives regardless of whether or not it has to deal with sexuality or gender (the only reason parents want to know those things is to abuse their children). Parents that force themselves into your life in ever way are textbook controlling, children are individuals, i know a lot of it is for monitoring your child, and making sure they’re but thats only okay in moderation, because independence is important for development
