@epitaph200 Im making my own series in stick nodes and i heard you are good at script writing so i want to ask something about it. If a character dies and their personally important for tue protagonist and their whole character was affected by that event but then that character is later on revealed not dead in the series, is that bad script writing?
-
while you’re not asking me I’m gonna answer anyway because fight me irl
personally, yeah that’s bad
it’s kinda like a major “lol jk” BUT…it’s not like it’s not done all the time in showsbut it really depends…
if the “fake” death is planned, foreshadowed, hinted at, has good reasoning, etc – you can get away with it and it could even be very cleverbut if it’s just “lol nah bullets don’t affect me because plot” then that sucks

not really. fake deaths are, while strangely common, a good cliche. however, it needs to be pulled off with the correct foreshadowing, reasons and weight to it. you can’t have them return and just act like nothing ever happened, make their new personality different, creating an emotional struggle between the two, creating drama that could even lead to one of the characters going full blown villain.

Either that or just have the “dead” charcter traumatized af and them others asking how did it feel to die etc.
