So I skipped the October update post – my bad. I figured you guys couldn’t take another “the update will be out soon” post. But there’s good news now, the update is released – for Android, iOS coming soon!
See this video before reading on:
Sounds for Pro users!
Yep, it’s finally here. The hands-down most-requested feature has finally arrived – sound effects.
I’ve been working on this update since mid-July – MID-JULY. Let that sink in a little. It’s been nearly four-months in the making and boy, was it a headache to get this working.
I know some of you are already at your keyboard ready to tear me a new one calling me greedy and asking for sounds in the Free version, but hear me out.
This was the biggest update to Stick Nodes since its release over a year ago. Like I said, it took me four months to develop – in fact there were quite a few times I was ready to give up due to it seeming impossible. Asking for $2 as a solo developer for all of this work isn’t greedy, right? That’s less than half the price of a typical morning coffee. Plus, from a technical standpoint, only Pro users can export MP4 videos – it wouldn’t make sense for Free users to use sounds since they can’t export them (GIFs obviously don’t have audio).
I hope you guys understand that. And don’t get me wrong, I completely understand that some of the younger users are just simply unable to buy any app, whether it be due to your parents or lack of money – trust me, I was in your shoes at one point. To you I can only recommend asking your parents really, really, really nicely and hoping for the best 🙂
This update also comes with 40 sounds to get you started. You can of course use your own MP3 files as sounds, but with the app comes numerous DBZ sound effects, punches, weapons, swishes, and many other miscellaneous sounds for use in any animation!
Please feel free to let me know of any other specific sounds you’d like to see included with Stick Nodes!
Changelog
Besides sounds, there are also a few other changes, here they are:
- (Pro only) SOUNDS have been added! You can now add sounds to your animations and exported MP4 files!
- Exporting GIFs/MP4s no longer locks up your device.
- Users can now permanently delete projects/stickfigures from their device.
- Import/open list is now always alphabetized.
- Fix for crashes when saving large projects/stickfigures.
- Fix for bug where sometimes saving a stickfigure didn’t save it correctly.
- Tons of other tweaks and fixes!
And that’s about it for now. Tomorrow I begin work on attempting to port this over to iOS. I can’t give a release date yet, this port can either go smoothly or be very, very difficult – we’ll see.

Well In t the meen time ill make more stick people =)
I think i will not enter the competition because i will not win
I DO BELIEVE IN MYSELF But im not a good animator and not the best stickfigure creator. I can make my animations fluid on nontweened, if i take days to create a stickfigure i make masterpieces
But…
LAZYYYYYYYYYYYYYY
Believe in yourself even more.
I was bored

Helloooo! :p just changed my name:) (I was Orion hehe)
WHAT.
Fine DONT add sounds to free… Fine
Lol’d.
Dude, HOW THE HELL ARE WE SUPPOSED TO HEAR SOUNDS IN A GIF?! Sorry im just tired of people getting on Ralph on how there are no sounds in free. Dude, can you not even afford a simple $2 app?
In how I buy apps and other stuff….. I deal with my dad…lol
Guys they cant add sounds if free makes gif only. So shut up and buy Pro if you arent happy. Most of you guys played Pivot, i know it, so, why didnt you asked for sounds on pivot? You still can use video editors To put sounds on it.
“But my mom dont want!”
No. Your mom/granma/dog/clownfish/giraffe give you a small amount of money every months or every week i dont know, so why dont you use it on this awesome app?
Sorry if i’ve been a bit offensive but, guys, Ralph needs money, you know? 2 Euros is not very expensive, are you guys greedy? I hope not. Like he said in the post:
“Asking for $2 as a solo developer for all of this work isn’t greedy, right? That’s less than half the price of a typical morning coffee.”
Just imagine all the time he needs to code his app, to make us happy. Come on guys, at least enjoy the free version, this is much better than like: “make 10 frames, pay 3 euros to continue.”
So be happy with what you got.
(I planned to buy Pro around christmas.)
maybe you shouldn’t judge people your getting more impatient and mean
Im not impatient at all, im Just mean.
People are asking for new updates but Lets see if they are faster than Ralph to develop.
wait those people/animals give you money
I just bought Stick nodes Pro 5 seconds later, and im like yaaaayyy!!!
But all my stick figures that i have done theyre gone (they were like 87) 🙁
But now i can export to mp4 yaay 😀
Hey Helios.
I really need to make a tutorial on this too.
They’re not gone, they’re still in the “Stick Nodes” folder (not “Stick Nodes Pro”).
What you need to do is connect your iOS device to your computer and open iTunes. Click the device icon at the top, then click “Apps”, then scroll down to “File Sharing”. From there, click “Stick Nodes” and save all of the files that you want to transfer (save them to your desktop for example). When done, click “Stick Nodes Pro” and now drag all of the files that you just saved (from your desktop or wherever) into the list and you’ll have successfully transferred them.
okey thaaaanks!
