Story and humor are inapplicable to this animation, so I won’t critique them.
This is another generic DBZ-fight. What makes it generic isn’t the incorporation of DBZ itself, but rather the lack of uniqueness that is approached within the fighting. Most all fighting is done in 2D with no dynamic angles. There are some thrown in, but they are mediocre at best. The movements rely on effects and dash particles to look fluid but really aren’t too impressive. This animation, instead of taking all the things about DBZ that would elevate it higher, chooses to repeat the same punches and effects over and over in uncreative ways. It really is comparable to two dudes slapping each other for 5 minutes. There isn’t much variety or originality; all this is the same and it doesn’t offer anything new. There isn’t any impact in the fighting itself as well. This overall creates a very mediocre work that is very passable.
Really generic. But some of the animation was good. While it was good, I still always found flaws in it and sometimes the animation was bad. Theres also a bunch of recycled animations in this which caused me to stop watching at points and think about other things. The effect really are nothing special, but the destruction is nice and the background use is nice too. There isn’t much variety. The damage they do to each other was great until. It just stopped. Visually this missed some things. The effects weren’t mind blowing unfortunatly. This doesn’t have much entertainment value but overall it was made pretty decently.
2/5
@ what both toxic and EB bring up in their reviews, is true
somewhat “generic” and nothing too exciting
so why spotlight it?
well first off it wasn’t “bad” at all, in fact some of the effects and animation tricks were pretty neat and even some of the moves were animated well, although overall a bit stiff
anyway, animations that aren’t always “WOW 10/10” are good to showcase time to time because 1) they still satisfy the requirement of being at least “good enough” to show what SN can do and 2) it is actually more likely to inspire those who might not yet be too skilled with animation
these people see top-tier animators and while they are inspired they may feel its unattainable to ever reach that level
these types of vids maybe give more of a stepping stone to set goals and whatnot
idk just wanted to elaborate on what goes into the choosing of some of these spotlights
