Humor is not applicable to this animation, so I won’t critique it.

Eek. This one was hard to sit through.

As a moviemaker, every single minute, every single second, needs to serve a purpose or enhance the movie. If something is unnecessary, cut it out. If something interferes with the storytelling, cut it out. If something is too long, cut it out.

This is the animation equivalent of a game studio padding out a 10-hour game to be 40-hours in length. It offers way too little in actual entertainment and content over the extended timeslot this animation requires. The characters basically blend in with each other, and their personalities are stereotypical and bland. Fighting doesn’t capture the intensity of boxing, and the entire episode feels like downtime to do something else. It just doesn’t offer much. It’s an ambitious project for sure, but it fails to capitalize on what could make it so unique to the standard series. Once again, it has potential, but does nothing with it, resulting in a poor series that I do not recommend viewing. Perhaps this could be another elements, and it progressively gets better over time. While I hold out on hope for that, what we are being presented right now is rather not enjoyable.

1/5. Better uses of time.

I gotta give credit thwt you made an improvement in this one. So I really gotta say I enjoyed this compared to the others. But I’m gonna start with the problems. In this series, there’s a consistent problem with recycled animations and scenes. This occurs a lot here. And it feels stretched out. Some fights between the fighters are too long compared to others and it is odd for pacing. You go from the expected immediate K.O from the Machine to the suprising fight between a rookie and a veteran boxer in several areas that span like 6 minutes. It’s not balanced. The buildup to the first round of the tournament was actually pretty well done. Now a big problem is the characters often times blend in with each other. The fighter designs are rather similar overall. Some are actually pretty different from the others while some blend in with each other. This is the same with personalities. And mid fight there is constant pauses and the recycling of animations pulls away the intensity. These are major problems for this series. But on the bright side, there is consistent improvement and the characters are feeling more distinct. This is also seen with animation it gets better each time, but at the same time, it suffers from flaws. But I have a lot of respect for the improvements made.
I’m between a 2/5 and a 3/5 but I will end it with a 3/5 primarily just cause you improve alot on this. Visual bug are also still very apparent, but this carries a detailed and unique style.
