Putting aside my endless amount of hate for scarf figures and other generic designs that are found in this first episode, it doesn’t have much going for it. Animation is insanely rough with characters being knocked back before they are even hit with the same attacks being regurgitated over and over again. It’s all the same stuff seen in every other SN series that attempts to create a DBZ knockoff in SN. The use of effect and fast pace fight is good though. But I still found myself zoning out, rushing to read through small bits of dialogue that don’t even matter. Music used in the background doesn’t sync well with what is going on as well as it’s low quality music. But it’s there. So there’s that. Character designs, backgrounds and effects are all rather bland and hold nothing special. The fact that 4/6 characters here have a scarf and 6/6 can be seen in almost every animation pulls it’s uniqueness and charm to 0. Storywise, theres nothing. All of these people that are beating the living hell out of each other don’t seem to hold personalities and this massive fight is the start. There’s no context of why their fighting, then it turns out that they are a team? Now at this point we are introduced to 6 characters in 1 minute 50. We see some of their names which end up going througn one ear and out the other cause this is just so cluttered and hectic. Not even mentioning part of the most ridiculous part, we see 5 of the characters, don’t even know who is who here and what they are about, then we are introduced to the main villian at a cliffhanger, I believe this is Raze from what I know about the series. But this first episode doesn’t give a good impression.

I totally agree with you. This is just an overdone concept that was never good in the first place

It Joke-

Besides , many are reviewing old animations in the spotlight

Story simply fails to exist, the animation is choppy and odd-looking, the fighting scenes are monotonous and the hits fail to deliver that “powerful” impact you expect to see, the characters have bland, generic names and boring designs. Our protagonists seem to be “fighting” but it looks more like they’re just lightly poking one another and ocasionally throwing balls of energy around.

2/5 just because this is old.

People give this series a bad rep because of the first episodes, but there is a reason it remains a staple example that comes to mind when thinking about StickNodes Series. This series succeeds and fails at many things. What it fails at, it fails pretty badly. But what it gets right, it gets spot on.

The storyline is pretty underdeveloped, that’s a given. The very beginning episodes mess this up pretty badly.
Personalities are often all over the place. Omit the names of the characters from sentences, and you can’t really determine which character is which.

In general, the older episodes are pretty not stellar. The newer episodes display what the animator is much more skilled at animation.

Love or hate the series, it is undeniable that SGA has made a significant mark in the community through his series by the action alone. Simply considering eye-candy, the newer episodes get fantastic. Fights are fast and flashy, and very satisfying to see.

In general, I can’t give a full review, as the series is still developing, but there is a big promise for the series itself. Storyline and personality leave a lot to be desired, but the animation can often wow audiences. From a story perspective, it is much to be desired. From an animation perspective, it is rather well-made. More enjoyment out of this series will be derived from just sitting back and enjoying the view.

Overall 3/5. A lot to be desired, but a lot of potential too. Might bump to a 4/5 if the newer episodes improve on the story and make the characters distinct.

Ok I understand the time when this was done… but It could’ve been so much better than that! The animation can be smoother at all, the figures… I don’t like them, the script is HORRIBLE(I mean, generic stickfigures killing each other just like that.. WTH?) I don’t know how this sh*t reached the daily spotlight ??

Oh boy, this critique is going to be controversial. So, let’s get started.

The visuals of Elements is easily its best quality. The fights are animated well and occasionally have interesting camera angles to help enhance the experience. Though, the fights suffer from being repetitive. However, the visuals are also hindered by the character designs, in my opinion. Now, don’t get me wrong, I have nothing against Base Figs, but when almost every single character looks like a recolor of one another, it makes the series less interesting. The only character who is visually interesting is Raze, but in the context of this series, that really isn’t saying much.

The plot is easily the worst part of Elements. It’s bare-bones, not very interesting, and the characters don’t help carry it. The “plot” (with HUGE quotation marks around it) seems more like an excuse to just have characters beat the living hell out of each other episode after episode. Along with this, the characters all have the same, painfully bland, boring-as-hell personality, which prevents them from making the plot any more interesting.

The humor in Elements is also painfully weak. Being an action series, I can’t exactly expect it to have A-class humor, but the occasional jokes that are placed throughout the episodes aren’t funny in the least.

Overall, I would give Elements a 3/10.
