Story and humor are inapplicable to this animation, so I won’t critique them.
This is a very ambitious project that unfortunately falls short. The establishing shots and angles are well-done and transitions are quite on point. I liked the entire aspect of how this animation took time to establish the setting and introduce the character. The views of the scenery really contribute to the animation, and it overall does some great shots in this regard. However, the rest is not as good in quality. The fight itself could definitely be more polished, and the well-done pacing that existed for the first minute of the animation is thrown away at this point. Character movements and overall animation quality leave a lot to be desired, to the point where these animation flaws become extremely noticeable bugs in scenes. In addition, giving the character only one line of dialogue pertaining to how he should have dodged a move wasn’t the best idea. It would have been much better overall if not a word was said. The heartbeat effect at the end also did not contribute to the overall tone.
If the effects were more on point and the movements were crisper, this definitely could have been a classic. Unfortunately, they’re not, and a couple of other bugs hinder the animation as well. There is great potential here, but it’s blocked for now.
Short films like this are always refreshing and well put together. The animation itself seemed quite choppy and was rough overall. The visuals were suprisingly good and impressive with that cinematic camera work as well as a story told purely through visuals. The story isn’t the focus and it isn’t very deep in its focus, but there’s one here and it compliment the rest of the animation quite well. The animation while rough does the job well and is comparatively good to most other SN animations so credit has to be given there.
