Story and humor are inapplicable to this animation, so I won’t critique them.

This is the standard Black Animator video: Overusage of flashy lights, reliance upon uninspired and reused effects, and punching. The quality has improved from the last video, but the content remains the same: uninspired and bland. I have no bias against DBZ animations, but I understand the difference between a good DBZ animation and a bad one. This one, though decent in animation and usage of effects, fails to capture the unique scenarios that DBZ fights can be put through. Every punch can break mountains, every beam of energy can cut through planets, every single move can be a finisher, and yet they’re used as if they were basic! (Exaggerated, but you get the point). Every attack should be treated powerful, every ability should be given focus, but this animation reuses and recycles the same punches with little to no impact on them, effects aren’t actually good, but are instead flashy and blinding. Overall, it leads to a mediocre experience and animation. There is so much potential for more, but this fails to deliver.

2/5.

This only improves on one thing. The intro. You get to see the fighters first before diving into the combat. Otherwise it seems like it’s covered in filters. In certain scenes you can’t even see what is going on cause theres such a desperate attempt to throw in cool angles to make up for the other things that are recycled 6 different times. Literal animation sets that are recycled atleast twice kill interest and ruin the pacing. Theres even some traced stuff in here that just looks out of place. The destruction portion here which really makes DBZ fights from the creators themselves great, is missing. It’s just them punching each other with nothing around them being destroyed. Too much reliance is left on flashy effects. And 1 third of this animation is unwatchable as it is made up entirely by unviewable overuse of effects preventing the viewer interpreting what is going at that point as well as stuff that isn’t interesting and reasonable to put in the video itself rather than the description. The movements in this are nice and that’s it.
