Storyline and humor are inapplicable to this animation, so I won’t critique them.

This is another example of how smoothness and tweening can actually be very detrimental to an animation. This animation suffers from quite a lot of things. The pacing is not particularly done well, the effects are bland and uninteresting, and there aren’t many interesting dynamic angles in the slightest. Furthermore, the use of tweening actually decreases the impact that could be felt from any attack or blow, making all the various abilities and punches seem as if they have no weight or energy behind them. Just because a fight animation looks smooth doesn’t mean it’s good. This animation fails to deliver.

High 1/5.

Feels like a much more slower paced DBZ battle. But this one is a little different to the others as it is smoother and focuses much more on the inbetween frames considering the appearance of quite a bit of easing. Unfortunatly theres a bunch of problems with the posing and the amount of action in this. It feels much slower as there’s lots of pausing in between attack. The smoothness is very refreshing though despite the lack of force being shown as well as power. As a result the animation looks odd in areas. Especially when you take into consideration things like certain effects and movements which go from 60fps to 15 which is odd. The format is still the same as every other DBZ fight so it doesn’t have much to offer. If the animation was great complimenting the tween, then this would certinly be a 3. But it doesn’t have much to offer as well as being oddy paced. So it’s an average animation.
