This is an interesting animation to critique because it is so condensed in multiple topics of an animation, so it’s hard to single out one to focus on. I’ll start with the pros.
For one, the animation has vamrack’s signature fast-paced style while still maintaining some fluidity. There are of course some slip-ups here and there, but there is consistent quality throughout. Typically voice acting in animations is something I wouldn’t look upon with encouragement (focus on what is necessary in an animation, rather than an extra detail. “Add the cheese to a pizza before working on the toppings.”) but the voicework here actually contributes well to the animation. In addition, I found the humor here to be pretty great, especially the torture scene. While it could have certainly been shortened since it wears out its welcome a bit, I still believe it was pretty well done.
Now for the cons.
In a story-based text-revolving animation, you should focus on the things critical for telling a story. This would include the pacing of the plot, the use of the text, dialogue between characters, and etc. However, particularly for all these aspects of the story, the animation doesn’t accomplish much. The story itself, which is the main point of the animation, is honestly the weakest part of the animation. The pacing is all over the place, and the animation doesn’t like to take time to set up characters and motivations. The text itself often has grammar errors and lack of punctuation, which is key for conveying dialogue. The dialogue itself can range from uninteresting to cringy. Character personalities are over the place too, and you can’t really understand what any of their motivations are.
I would give this a 3/5 if it weren’t story-based, but the story honestly drags the whole thing down. It’s all over the place and doesn’t feel planned.
Despite these cons, I see a lot of potential with this work. If the story is organized and tuned up more, this could really become something great! For now, it isn’t as stellar as it could be, but I do see a dramatic improvement in the future if key storyline aspects are improved.
Yeah. I realized that the story was just really bad honestly. Only character i could have a consistent motive was leader trying to track the assassins. Fatman basically had 2 personalities and each scene with fatman seemed like a different person. I think i just focused way more on the comedy and the fight back then. And yeah i also agree on the dialogue being a weak point to this. It makes the animation boring. Honestly i dont like this animation that much anymore. And well i decided to revamp or just scrap the series cuz the other episodes to it dont even make sense at this point, the characters had terrible personalities, and i lost motivation to really continue this train wreck of a series. But thanks for the criticism

KaijynnJust your friendly local cryptid. I'll eat your bones.
I found this animation to be entertaining as hell! Visually, it’s a bit awkward in places that don’t involve fighting, but the fights are animated well! The various battles throughout the animation are one of the best parts about it, and are the best visual aspect of it. Other problems with the visuals are that a lot of the dialogue is grammatically incorrect, and it’s kind of distracting.
The plot is probably this animation’s weakest aspect. It’s somewhat basic, has some random parts that don’t add anything (like the demon fight), and some plot points kind of come out of nowhere. However, the plot is fairly easy to follow, though, so at least it’s not super messy.
The humor of this animation is golden, in my opinion. While humor isn’t always present, it constantly makes me lose it whenever it is present. The best humorous scene in the entire thing is the interrogation scene, in my opinion. While it isn’t animated, the voice acting and sound effects make it comedy gold.
Looking back, I noticed more visual problems that before. But that doesn’t change the fact that this is a complete gem. The story has many flaws with 2 personality characters like you brought up yourself with Toxic. But this is complete entertainment. While rough around the edges, the animation is good and the use of backgrounds really drive the visuals up. Grest effects too with enviroments being destroyed. It’s above average for visuals. But theres also at the same time loads of bugs there. A low 3 for that. Humor though. You don’t resort to immature jokes for humor and it’s lovely. It also doesn’t damage the story. I couldn’t ask for more in that part. I could got into more depth, but the length is commendable and the characters are all put together well. Even though the story has problems, it exists and it’s unique.
