Humor is inapplicable to this animation, so I won’t critique it.

This is the conclusion to the Joker Story, but in all honesty, the third episode was more entertaining and intense than this one. It is understandable that this episode was to show more powers than actual fighting, but it looses some of the intensity the third episode captured so well. The pacing is noticeably off, and fights feel slower to watch. There is a lot more dialogue to this episode than in any others, but a lot of the dialogue is questionable in how it is written. The visuals are certainly more improved, but they don’t contribute much to the actual animation besides looking good. They are there and make it prettier, but don’t make anything significant.

The story hasn’t always been that good, and I’ve always given that a bit of a pass since I’ve known that this series was never really made to convey a whole lot of story. People watch movies for different reasons and have different expectations. You don’t watch a Pixar expecting graphic violence, nor would you watch a normal horror movie expecting a deep, intricate, well-explained plot. I have watched these stories with how they are intended to be watched, and the Joker Story is clearly intended to show more of fighting rather than talking. Even despite that, it still is a series, so I do take into account the storyline and if it interferes with the fighting or not.

The story in this account is pretty confusing towards the end as Lupin returns and Joker promptly kills him. It comes out of left field for this to happen, and time isn’t taken for this to happen.

Overall, this episode has better visuals and detail but lacks the pacing and intensity of previous episodes. The story also gets in the way of this episode much more than any others, and it bogs the episode down. It still is good, don’t misconstrue, but it simply isn’t as good as other Joker fights.

3/5.

Not too much improvement from the last. Story is still garbage, but visuals are certainly a bit better. But still a 2 considering theres hardly a background. Pacing has taken a downfall here though. There’s all sorts of problems where it stops, then continues and theres also problems with consistency in animation, as well as the antagonists death was pretty pathetic. This ending feels like a step backwards overall and is very disappointing. Sure, most of the series is for fights, but thst doesn’t change the fact that it’s a series. The story is a colossal failure and the visuals arent anything special. The animation overall is very good though. The animation alone carries this to an average for spotlight animations. But this is still a 2/5.
