Definitely enjoyable. Animation started of really rough and basic, then progressed into something much more interesting and polished. Still overall, the animation wasn’t top notch, but it built a simple story that carries out consistantly most of the time with a few questionable moments like killing off certain villians immediately without much development. A large portion of the movie suffers from an awkward amount of silence. At the least, ambient sounds or music should be added to compensate for the unlikely chance of voice acting in an SN animation. The story is carried out really quick, almost like it is rushed with a horrible problem of lacking suspense. On top of story problems, plot points tend to be really basic in their approach like the release of the node spawns. It should feel like the Flood from halo is being released when the node spawns are introduced. On top of the story issues, it also suffers from a lack of context going into the story and instead of some clarification at the start, we get background information of the community only. So the viewer is left with any background lore that they likely won’t have or know about going into the story. There isn’t much in terms of identifiable and memorable locations especially with odd scaling and camera work with little to no scene building. The use of humor is very well done and the series does an excellent job of executing jokes and making you laugh despite the quality of the animation and the chaos happening. Some of the humor is definitly a little bit for mature audiences though which isn’t bad at all. Visually, the series leaves a great, above average display of background use and design of every individual character. It holds a simple style but at the same time suffers from low resolution uploads of the episodes, odd scaling, odd laying of figures and effects and a few other things that are just too petty to include here. But overall, this is some great work and easy entertainment.

I really loved this series and this episode does an overall good job in setting it up. The effects were amazing for the time it was created considering filters and movieclips were still not a thing. The animation is simple yet fluid which is what I love about it. However, like other reviewers pointed out, it is too silent. If you intend on remastered this series I would suggest adding ambience for the quiet moments and some music for the intense ones. Adding sound effects for simple and basic moments would be great too. Anyways, at the time this was made I would give a 4.5/5 but now I would give it like a 3.5/5 (I gave it a 4 just because). Great job Epitaph!

could be better, the visuals are fairly bland, with only the detail of the backgrounds and characters being the one carrying the visuals, animation wise, it’s eh, doesn’t really feel exciting, with too much text and reading being put into most of the scenes. characters don’t really express personality in their movements.

story is fairly bland too, not much going on for it other than the story of “wacky node creators being gods!!!” and “base figures and normal users bad!!!!” honestly makes the creator look hella egotistic (if he wasn’t already egotistic in the first place)

humor completely ruins the animation, with dry jokes being put into serious scenes and mostly composed of inside jokes and sexual references

Overall, despite its issues, this was an enjoyable series. The animation started out fairly average, but grew to be much better as the series progressed. The fights had some interesting choreography, and were easy to follow most of the time.

The plot was probably the best part of SNM. While it wasn’t anything extremely original, it still had a bit of charm to it, and was relatively easy to follow. However, I can’t say the same for the characters. A lot of them didn’t show off much personality or character, with the exception of a few, and most of them hardly had any screen time.

The humor of SNM is hit or miss. Most of it is fairly immature or just flat-out unfunny, but the series did have a few jokes that were legitimately funny. However, humor is probably one of the weaker aspects of the series.

Nostalgia aside, I’d probably give SNM a 5/10.
