Eek. This first series episode takes a different approach on introducing the world by showing how it was created in the first place. The introduction of this multiverse scenario is quite interesting, and the way in which all these popular icons from other medias are all depicted is a neat touch. The visuals are fairly decent, though they could certainly have some improvements. Overall, animation quality is standard and decent.
The story and characters though. The dialogue though. The pacing. All of this has been botched. Creation of the universe and the deities responsible for it can always be a unique and interesting concept. However, this animation demonstrates a lack of awareness on all concepts critical to introducing deity-level beings and creation of the universe. It is poorly done at best. Characters that come into being immediately begin to name themselves in acts of poor pacing. The main prime may have the powers of a deity, but is not portrayed as one in the slightest. This could still be ok if pulled off well, but it isn’t. Already, the “mistake” creation becomes evil (because the plot demands it). It’s not well-done in the slightest. Humor is here and there, but it suffers a lot due to the pacing.
Overall, as an animation, it works, but as a series episode, it lacks a lot. There need to be some considerable improvements to presentation, characters, and dialogue if this will cement itself as a good series. It has potential, but that potential must be acted upon rather than avoided.
Why the animation in this isn’t really great and is really average or bad. But it isn’t painfully bad. The humor is pretty decent in this, nothing incredible but it’s lots of references to other stuff. The concept and story of this is what makes it interesting and good. There’s pretty decent use of music and the cinematic work overall is okay. Really good in some areas but rough in others. There’s a few problems in the story that feel forced like the mistake creation. This episode is full of information but not too much and the creation of everything is really nice. This has a good buildup to everything and has great potential if animation were better I would be happy with giving it a higher 3-4.
