Story and humor are inapplicable to this animation, so I won’t critique them.

This is a Mici animation focusing more on direct fighting rather than both fighting and storyline. While it displays some quality work, it also is riddled with assorted bugs. Let’s dive into it.

To start, the influence of the animation “Combat Gods” clearly has made its mark here, as the animation itself runs in a similar style, and some moves are even directly taken from the influence. The fighting itself is fast-paced and powerful, and the use of powers themselves is rather interesting. Effects are decent, but often completely overused. There is a certain reliance on movieclips being demonstrated here. While the rock effects themselves are good to look at, they are repeated too much as exactly the same to have a significant effect. There needs to be a bit more variety in that design. Though, the rock hand itself was well-done. Though the fighting is well-done, there are certain areas where animation quality takes dips, to a point where it becomes almost distracting. There are quite a lot of pauses, extended startups, and wobbling actions that are directly noticeable. The main problems evident with this animation is the camerawork and background work, or rather the lack thereof. The background in this animation is horridly inconsistent and sizing is a key issue in this fight. It is presented in such a way that the background seems to reset every second, and there isn’t a developed sense of perspective or physical depth to the fight. In addition to that, the constantly zoomed out camerawork for the overall fight is a major problem, especially since the fighters often move across the screen very quickly. The animation is then presented as more of a picture frame rather than a fluid fight. It is presented in a way where the fight looks as if it has been diced into sequences of quick fights rather than one continuous intense one. The lack of consistent camerawork plagues the fight at every point, and adding good camerawork to the actual fight would severely elevate its overall quality. We are talking about significant levels.

Overall, the fighting is decent, but this alone does not fully carry the animation itself. The animation succeeds at a decent fight, but it weighed down by a combination of many significant factors (the camerawork, the background, animation inconsistencies, etc). This is still positive news, as it shows Mici is capable of performing some good stuff, but some balancing work needs to be made on critical factors such as the ones I described. The fight is good, don’t get me wrong, but the animation as a whole needs some improvements. Still, this is significant improvement from standard Mici work.

Jeeze. This got hard to watch pretty quick. Recycled music you would hear from every episode of CHAMPION and missing sounds halfway through and even all over. These feels dragged out and wasn’t easy to watch through. No story here, no humor, just action. A series focused on action alone needs impressive visuals, angles, animation and so on. The lack of sound and angles, and backgrounds with no complexity to them. The visuals are lacking and the only thing here is the animation which is pretty decent but janky in areas. The action is dragged out and could have ended within like 3 minutes. Sound work could really help this and background work with more interesting choreography. But this is really lacking. Wouldn’t watch all the way through.
