Before the animal's most iconic depiction in Jurassic Park 3, this is what Spinosaurus originally looked like. A typical "generic" carnosaur with a sail on it's back and stood in a upright tripod or kangaroo-like posture like various theropods and hadrosaurs depictions at the time, sadly the original fossils of Spinosaurus were bombed in a WW2 bombing in Germany. And this depiction of the animal has held for quite longer than expected all the way to the 90s during the dinosaur renaissance boom with some reconstructions depicting as a upright dimetrodon or even predicting the four-legged Spino depiction in the late 2010s years later.

THATS WHAT THEY USED TO LOOK LIKE?!?!!?!?!?,
The reason why Spinosaurus looked like a generic carnosaur with a sail, is because of the fragmentary fossils of the animal back in the time with mainly neural spines, isolated teeth and a jaw bone and a partial skeleton. It’s only until like 90s that we got better fossil material of Spinosaurus
Credits to Dane Pavitt, since I used his retro spinosaurus as the reference btw
