AK models are more known for their reliability than their fire rate. In fact their fire rate is slower compared to other assault rifles like the M4.

Not sure about the reliability part, it being slow is a good thing for ammo (look at FN P90, it runs dry quick).

Let’s not forget about the recoil

Go check FPS Russia. He has a video on how reliable the AK-47 is. Being slow isn’t always a good thing when it’s bullet caliber is cheap and has a harder time penetrating cover.
