About the sprite update killing pixel noding, I think it greatly depends on how the sprites are implemented. In the minecraft thing showcase, we saw sprites as separate from stickfigures (correct me if I'm wrong). This Aquatic Scourge wouldn't work then, because I need to add segments for it to bend smoothly. If you can add "sprite segments", I think that would kill sprite noding. Without that, people made non-minecraft pixel things that needed to move limbs and stuff, and separating limbs on a phone can be trickier than making them many. It also depens how many sprites can you add. If you can add 5 sprites, and you have many sprites that would take few nodes as stickfigures, it would be more effective to make stickfigures.
