Descended from a lineage of spinosaurids that survived the KP-T extinction event that wiped out the non-avian dinosaurs due to remarkable ecological flexibility and semi-aquatic lifestyle. This lineage thrived alongside coastal regions rish in radiolytic sands & microbial mats, feeding on massive schools of fish while supplementing it's diet with smaller terrestrial prey. Over millions of years it gradually grew larger, an adaptation that helped maintain body temperature in a cooling world through gigantothermia. It's longevity, slow metabolism and near total absence of natural predators allowed it to remain largely insulated from environmental upheavals that eliminated other large apex predators. It's atomic breath takes the form of a rapid scalding stream releasing intense heat and pressure which they stored in reinforced sacs until needed in their throats after gathering raw materials from radioactive sands and microbial mats.

By the time humans emerged, they became foundations for countless legends, sightings of Asia, Africa and the Indo-Pacific inspired tales of dragons, sea serpents and countless other monsters. Sailors logs, coastal folklore and early chronicles described them as massive scaly tyrants of the seas, capable of capsizing boats and boiling entire armies alive. There's currently two recorded instances with the saurians, one in the ancient Roman Empire in 65 CE as a juvenile captured and brought into a colosseum and a staged namaki and eventually moved to a heavily fortified coastal pen far from the city and one in the late 20th century where it was upriver migrating into the Cherry Noble Exclusion Zone who over several days hunted with terrifying efficiency and exploiting the radiation rich environment to amplify the chemical reactions with its superheated blast.

By modern era, human activity like overfishing, habitat destruction and environmental population had reduced populations dramatically. The species survives now in isolated coastal refuges, remote marine zones and select inland waterways where they continue to hunt with precision and power.
