This is the demon samurai.

What happened is that during medieval japan a samurai once walked into the Tengu forest in search of demon power. He soon caught up with a tengu who fought him.

Then after an intense battle the samurai defeated the tengu and claimed his sword. Afterwards he gained the mystical power of the tengu sword and became the demon samurai.

Enemies would cower in fear as he swooped down on them like an eagle of death calling him the demon samurai, nobody could match him among the warlords of japan in skill.

When there was no one left to challenge he sealed his soul inside the tengu sword to be awakened by a warrior worthy of his might!
