lore: the ferality virus is a... strange thing, the ferals can infect you with a bite, even if the bite kills/dismembers you.
a cacoon will then grow on the victim, until eventually they emerge.. as a viral, and eventually mature into ferals. awful creatures. no one knows where they came from, Harris told me they came from a, "magical place where we can't ever reach them, but they can reach us"
i wouldn't say it makes sense, but nothing makes sense anymore...
