These creatures like the distortus rex were mutants (i think?) presumably a failed attempt at making a yi qi these mutants were PRESUMABLY kept alive to be studied. This species is extremely invasive with a prime example being how they treat the velociraptor. Also half this description is my guess on how these guys came to be.
