Clone Troopers were clones of the bounty hubter Jango Fett, they were bred within the cloning facilities on Kamino, the army was requested by Jedi Master Sifo-Dyas, who died later and the Clones went under the control of the Sith.

The Kaminoans put in inhibitor chips inside the Clones, which they contained Protocols such as 'Protocol 66' and 'Protocol 37'. They were many divisions in the army such as the 212th Attack Battalion, the 501st Legion or thr 327th Star Corps. There were different types of clones who stood out then the rest, such as the ARC Troopers and Clone Commandos.

When the Jedi Masters Mace Windu, Kit Fisto, Agen Kolar and Saesee Tiin tried to arrest the Chancellor after Anakin told Mace Windu that Palpatine was a Sith Lord, Sheev Palpatine gave out the order to all clones to execute order 66, they complied with the order and executed their Jedi Generals.

Soon the clones now served under the Galactic Empire, however they would be replaced with non-clone Stormtroopers though some Clones continued to serve.
