For the immature ones here, this has nothing to do with rape.
The Rapier, though nobel and graceful in design, is a brutal weapon. as long as a longsword (so about a meter+ long) designed solely for thrusting attacks, easily bypassing Gambeson or other soft armours and impaling the target.
Rapiers are sterotypically given to women in fantasy films and games due to their dainty appearance however in reality, the Rapier is actually quite weighty and was moreso used by Nobels, men. a key defining feature for Rapiers (aside from the most important factor, the needle like blade) would be an abundance of them with swept hilts, a guard madeup of a squiggle of metal strings forming a spiraly, twisty guard of metal tubes.
These guards are useful against chutting swords as they protect the hand completely from such an attack.

This is a common misconception.
Rapiers are just as heavy as a Broadsword, it’s just that that weight is distributed differently.
I’d say they’re a fairly brutal weapon, stabbing straight through targets with immense ease and with the ability to quickly change direction thanks to the heavy hilt

A Rapier is similar to bows, as bow are sterotypically given to “Fast” characters, even though archery has more to do with strength than speed.
Exactly, in fact a Long ow is very hard to pull back and especially hold there.
If you need a weapon for a weak character, just use either a Crossbow, Shortsword or Spear
