The megalodon was the largest macropredatory shark that ever lived, it lived 23-3.6 million years ago. It grew to a maximum length of 20.3 metres (67 feet) and up to 103 metric tons (114 short tons).

In the 2018 flick 'The Meg' and subsequent 2023 sequel 'Meg 2: The Trench', the megalodons have been living in a hidden part of a trench, hidden from the rest of the world. They are bigger than their real-life counterparts, with the meg from the 2018 film being ~23 metres/75 feet long, and seem way more interested in eating humans than they should.
