i ain’t know what a Kiryu is, I barely know Godzilla’s lore, so I’ll just assume this is a resurrected Godzilla after he got blown up by a spirit bomb or something a la Mecha Frieza
Actually you’re really close kiryu is the original 1954 Godzilla which was killed by the oxygen Destroyer the scientists used bones as framework for the machinery and the Machinery can use the DNA from Godzilla to upgrade its AI but it’s thanks to that sometimes Godzilla takes full control which means a literal ghost is controlling the machine and if there’s any order to kill Godzilla it will disobey the order even though it was designed to kill Godzilla it can’t and it won’t
It’s pretty hard to understand Godzilla

Mainly it’s just different stories and outcomes that derive from the original 1954 movie , and then the American series plus stand-alones are the only ones that aren’t connected to the original
Plus comics , games , same sht as every genera and franchise
