Once a Journalist, Eddie Brock despised Spider-Man after he made a fool out of Eddie for falsely accusing someone of murder. He lost his job, his wife, and his credibility. All he had left was his hatred for the Web-Slinger. However, Something Unbelievable happened while he was attending a church. It was Spider-Man! He was removing the black suit after finding out it was a symbiote that was slowly killing him. After the symbiote finally left him, it found Brock. And the rest is history.
