Weapons
Hello, this holiday season brings you a gift in the shape of ten unique handcrafted weapons, all designed, named, and created by me. Hopefully this comes to the site on Christmas Eve or Day (please Ralph if you read these). As per tradition with these weapon packs, here are the walls of text.
1. Rangifer Standard
Meant not necessarily as a spear (though initially made to resemble a bident), this staff could be used as a standard of sorts for a very festive army. The gem on the forehead changes color, done to resemble Rudolph's nose, mostly because making the nose itself change color looked silly.
The name Rangifer is a part of the Reindeer's scientific name, Rangifer Tarandus. Definitely the least creative out of this pack, I guess I was feeling lazy?
2. Tchaikovsky's Ballet
A nutcracker poleaxe, combining versatility with festivity. Like most super-smart intelligent people, the poleaxe is my favorite medieval weapon, so obviously, I had to put in much more effort into this figure. It's a little awkward sitting among the rest due to the size, but hopefully you can still see it alright.
Tchaikovsky created the cultural phenomenon that is the Nutcracker (the symphony, not the toy), so I figured it fits to have this named after him.
3. Krampusnacht
Everyone loves Krampus, so I thought, why not put Krampus on a sword? The sword itself bearing resemblance to a Chinese Dao or a Scimitar, maybe an Arabic Saber if you squint. Took a long time making the face (which I still think I COULD do better, just not sure how...), as, obviously, I make weapons, not Christmas demons. I'm still proud of this one though, I think the blade design is pretty.
The term Krampusnacht refers to the mostly German "holiday" where the demonic figure of Krampus comes to kidnap misbehaving children and stuff them in a sack. Have Germans always been weird?
4a & 4b. Yuletide (Single & Double)
I was playing For Honor, running Medjay, when the weapon really caught my attention. The Egyptian palm axes, although perhaps mostly fictional or ceremonial, are fascinating. So I imagined the blades erupting from bells for this pack. Mostly as an excuse to make this piece of art before I get around to an African Weapon Pack (someday).
There are two versions, that being the beautiful double-sided palm axe version and the more plain spade-like variant. There was going to be a function to split them, but I decided it was too convoluted.
Yuletide used to refer to a separate midwinter festival for the Germanic & Norse, but nowadays is more like a synonym for Christmas or Christmastide.
5. The Chimney
The thought of this weapon inspired me to make this pack. I thought it would be cool as hell to have a giant sword made of bricks, resembling a fireplace. So I made it.
I don't think I need to explain this one's name.
6a & 6b. Peppermint Silent Knife (+Scabbard)
I tried to avoid generic weapons (ornament flail, christmas tree sword, etc), but the allure of making a concealed candy cane shikomizue was too tempting. Very first one made, even if the Chimney was the one that evoked the concept. The stripes were VERY frustrating to make, I probably could've done it better, but whatever.
The name is supposed to resemble "silent night," with, of course, peppermint referring to the candy cane itself. There were plenty of pun names I wanted to include, like wolverine-like nails called "Santa Claws."
7. Winter Wonderland
A massive snowman bludgeon, with the unusually long nose used to impale enemies (aka Halloween enjoyers). The carrot even comes out, adding a level of versatility to your fights. Very enjoyable figure to make.
Due to this regretfully being the only figure in the pack evoking any actual winter-like seasonal vibes, I saw it fit to give it the coveted title of "Winter Wonderland." One of the best Christmas terms by the way.
8a & 8b. Flail & Mace of Christmas Past
Perfect for either lighting a narrow passageway or defending yourself with blunt force. Feel free to add fire effects to the lantern for added effect. The flail string is finicky, so if needed, go ahead and add extra segments or some nice curves to the moveable nodes. Should work great.
Includes two variants, which are, obviously the flail and mace. Pretty straightforward.
Named after the Spirit of Christmas Past from "A Christmas Carol," because Present and "Yet to Come" sounded a little redundant.
9a. & 9b. Holy Night Pike & Decorated Variant
As the pack was boasting a woefully low amount of spears and polearms, this needed to be made, and as I had a lot of other Christmas niches filled, this one was hard to come up with. I figured a candle gave enough festive vibes to be included.
The decorated variant has a gilded scarf and some tassels on the golden prongs near the "blade." Just some nice detail, can get in the way with the annoying little moving parts, though.
Holy Night is synonomous with Christmas, so that needs no introduction, and, of course, pike means spear... though I wouldn't say this exact one is LONG enough to be a pike by definition.
10. Gingerbread Hatchet
Very last one, a nice light weapon to counteract the heavier polearms and greatswords, but a bad temptation in the middle of a fight. Though edible, it's preferred you don't eat it.
Name is VERY straightforward; it's a hatchet made of gingerbread. Gingerbread Hatchet. Perfect.
If you've made it this far it probably means you blanched at the numbered text and thought "I don't really care about all that." I can't blame you, I don't even want to REREAD it. Let that be an excuse for any spelling or grammar mistakes.
After I heard there would be no Christmas figure competition, this went from a planned contestant to a project of love, because I enjoy the season too much to let it go so easily. It took about the entire month, maybe 15 or 20 hours of combined work, 25 if you include concept art, research, and writing this abomination. Not really looking for attention with this one, mostly because I doubt it WILL get a lot of attention, I just want this to be one of the packs I look back on and give myself a pat on the back. Those always feel good.
Also, just to reiterate again, because I don't want confusion, the designs were completely mine. I thought of it all, drew them in a paint program, and went from there.
Next projects? A request for a stationary gun and the Asian weapon pack, part 2. After that, I'm not sure. It was fun making a themed weapon pack, maybe I'll do that again. Or make another 30 Halo guns. I do want to get back into making figures a lot... but I've been saying that for 2 or 3 years, so I can't say it has any real merit behind it.
Really hope I'm not forgetting anything, but I think that's all for now. Thanks for reading if you did. Have a good day and, of course, Merry Christmas 🙂

this is actually very impressive, the creativity with all of these festive bludgeoning objects
This pack is really amazing , but just one thing… can we eat that hatchet?
Yes, but it’s best to have another weapon on hand so you don’t eat your only defense
Bro vanished for 7 months, and then reappeared to get Jolly with it
Ho ho ho! Merry fightmas
Hey man, nice stick figures. I was wondering if you could do the DOOM 2016 Pistol. If you don’t want to, that’s fine. If you simply can’t, that’s also fine. Have a nice day!
No worries, I saw your comment on the shotgun, I’ll make the pistol but it may take a bit
holy yap. this is sick tho.
Thank you sonky_sunky
This comment originally asked if you could make the Hunters from reach, then I realized that I already commented on this before, so I retract my statement. Have a good day.
