Truly a monster in CQC, the Hardlight Sword can slice through just about anything that isn't an inch thick and made of metal thanks to a massive amount of endothermic heat and literally nanometer thin blade edges.

A sword that is small and light to carry yet at the click of a button (and turning off the safety) it's suddenly super long (okay it isn't huge) and ready to go. while you won't see Union Troopers running around with swords and shields like it's the Iron Age, their super tough armour and ultra resistant personal shields allow them to make melee charges like no one else can, running headfast into gunfire without even considering turning back, knowing their shields will keep them safe. these shielding systems and ability to make sudden charges is one of the reasons the AOW tries to stay as neutral with the Union as physicaly possible, the only reason the Union even owns Issyerie is because the AOW just gave it them in return for a neutrality contract, which as you should know by the fact Issyerie is a Union planet, worked.

So it's the classic Hardlight Sword but red, has a decorational Crossguard and is somehow even hotter (endothermically) and even sharper, possibly even a literal nanometer thick at the edge. Albah Kreiek rarely goes into combat but unlike our world leaders who sit behind a desk, drinking an alcoholic beverage, watching the battle from their comfy chair, The Supreme Leader of The Union will even go out of his way to put himself in danger at the most hostile battle of a war and single handedly win a battle with only a sword.

This of course has made him VERY popular with his regime and has kept it going for nearly a thousand years, even Supreme Commander Melsie Tseeair has grown a crush on him, and Trecsista conventionally find Quetarians 'odd looking'.

The Sword has been used time and time again to crush rebellions, slay enemy leaders, take cities, lead charges and annihilate entire armies with swing after swing of the Crimsom Blade. even the sight of a Crimson Glowing Sword has sent armies into a panic and even halted one or two wars just because Albah Kreiek got involved.
while Albah enjoys the occasional rebellion crushing followed by some politics and a relaxing day in the largest building on New Quetaria, his blade aches to taste Verinnian blood as he sits in his throne, waiting painfully to seize revenge on the Verinnians, take back Quetatia and do to the Verinnians what they did to the Quetarions almost a thousand years ago.
