Submission nico-1-18754-17081963-000000 is a product type submission for the nico district and subdistrict. Hartou was conceived in 1962 as a locomotive with efficiency in mind. it was during a time when the future of the NAR was at a concerning point in history. there weren't much better alternatives to coal that were better for the environment and they were expecting to find something better by this time. in order to help with the ultimate goal of environmental equilibrium NLW tasked it's scientists with creating a locomotive with absolute efficiency in mind. Hartou was the result of their work. with a 4-10-4 wheel arrangement, an effective coal distribution system, powderized nitroglycerin augmented coal, and a better fire-tube heat dissipation system, the Hartou Class was ready for testing. sure Hartou wasn't fast by any means, only about 170 km/h, but Hartou was the most efficient locomotive ever built. with an excellent 0.48 tons of coal hourly at max speed and full reg. a later, upgraded version called Diecal would be and even better version based off Hartou. with an even better fire-tube design and a 4-4-6-6 wheel arrangement it would possibly be the fastest steam locomotive ever built with a predicted 275 km/h. however Diecal was never built as Emyco got a submission from the soviet union in 1969. the submission was to test an RBMK style nuclear reactor with a forced prompt criticality event to boost efficiency, and everything changed in the ARS. over a 12 year period the ARS worked tirelessly to make their aging equipment to be powered by nuclear energy. the ARS was furious at the United Nations for letting this revolutionary technology hidden from them for so long. the ARS said that if one more thing they don't like happened they were gonna have to step in and intervene.
