After an asteroid wiped out the dinosaurs, Godzilla hibernated for many years until a nuclear bomb was dropped near a city that awakened Shinomura and Godzilla. After that, Godzilla had to hunt his ancient enemy for a long time, only resulting in failures until Shinomura managed to duplicate himself. After that, humans decided to drop an atomic bomb again with the intention of killing both Shinomura and Godzilla, but it ended up that they only killed Shinomura, but Godzilla became even stronger.
