i think the site is having worse performance in general, if i zoom in and zoom out too quickly it crashes, but that might just be me

that would be something local to you/your device, aka not from the server (performance wise)
like, the javascript in your browser is shitting itself
im talking more about lots of php/database making the site slow/server crash or have problems
a local browser app crashing is a completely different thing

ok i’m using chrome, and the app doesn’t quit to the homescreen or anything, the page turns gray and the page reloads, this is kinda annoying because if i’m looking at posts from 12 hours ago, i have to go back to that which takes a while, also since i’m using incognito mode, i have to log back in every other time it does that
“page turns gray” is that what the screenshot is above?
no what’s in that screenshot rarely happens. just the whole page will turn a dark ish gray and then reload
