Ok so this post is gonna be about the Giten’s methods of spreads so like, yeah.
The Giten being as large and as powerful as it is needs to be versatile in its spreading options, sometimes it’s usual just doesn’t cut it. While it can continue to do its usual, if it wants to cover a larger area or a different area faster without having to slowly spread over there, it can do so a few different ways all of which really aid the Giten in its purification conquest.
1) Burrowing: Burrowing is a common thing for the Giten as once it gets ahold of a sustainable energy source it immediately begins to burrow underground and towards the core of the planet so it can get access to large amounts of thermal energy. However it can use burrowing to create a large network of tendrils and start a new spread elsewhere, it can focus on making thinner, longer tendrils that take less time to produce than just gradually getting bigger and overcoming the entire planet. As a result a new spread can start just about anywhere with little signs of it even happening, a good surprise attack for those unexpecting it. It can appear virtually anywhere through this, even inside large fortified compounds it can simply burrow beneath it and dig up and into it. It isn’t impossible to track the Giten’s burrowing however as if it were to cut through a forest for example, just about every plant who’s roots were touching it will die. Following a long trail of dead foliage can lead you to either a new spread site or to where one will pop up next.
2) Spores: The Giten isn’t a fungal creature, however it does share some similarities most notably being its spores. Giten spores are large clusters of cells that are small enough and lightweight enough to be carried through the air and thus is able to make use of air travel to spread all over. Giten spores come in massive amounts, and when enough is present its visible too; black and grey fog filling the sky is most likely a large collection of airborne spores on a Giten infested world. As large amounts of spores begin to settle over populated areas, the air naturally becomes toxic as it is filled with Giten cells, breathing it in can have terrible effects on the body however doesn’t usually lead to an infection. Buildings and objects will become covered in these spores in a very similar way to how pollen covers things, leaving what looks like black dust that will begin to spread.
It’s not uncommon to see a large series of black clouds on the horizon of a planet thats being overtaken. Those are the thousands of spores moving across the sky ready to touch down wherever the wind will carry them.
Next post will be about the Barchondians and their experience with the Giten, how it was able to wipe out such an advanced race and how the Barchondians nearly won. It’ll even explain the Giten’s origins according to them.

I should have also said that I got a lot of inspiration for this from Stranger Things, specifically the tunneling idea. The Giten is kind of a big amalgam of a bunch of ideas I found from shows and games so as more is revealed you’ll see some similarities with it and other media
Specifically Kirby. Kirby had a lot to do with the Giten’s inspiration
So we start here
