If anyone has experience with this kind of stuff, feel free to give me suggestions.

So I’m trying to make a hollow knight skin by replacing the Knight with something from sticknodes, something that hasn’t really been done before (I think.)

In every photo editing program when I start doing the magic and replace the sprites, the sticknodes images are super huge compared to the tiny Knight sprites. So I scale the sticknodes image down to the size of the sprite, and all seems well until I stop resizing, where it becomes an unrecognizable pixely mess.

I’ve tried everything at this point and it still looks like pixelated vomit. I can provide videos of what actually happens if this wasn’t clear enough.

    • whatever program you’re using, change the scaling mode

for example, “nearest neighbor” will be sharp pixels wheras something like billinear will be very blurry/anti-aliased

but if you’re reducing really, really, really small, well…it’s not gonna look good regardless

I’m fine with it becoming a little pixelated, it’s expected, but unless I screw around with changing how big the character in the game is, like hit boxes and stuff (which I’ll likely have to do now,) it’ll look pretty bad.
