That’s what I usually do
The reason I did it like this here is because I’m not used to working with stylized shapes and heads and such, so I outlined what I have to make first so I can get an idea of where to start

just like, make the shape then add a thicker node around the edges of the shape(?) im bad at explaining these things buts its quite simple actually
