    2-13-22: Gladiatorial Combat
One of the most prized traits of all Grodotians is athleticism. It’s seen as a holy gift (religion yet to come) to have such attributes, and ignoring such ‘gifts’ is highly looked down upon in the royal sectors of Grodot.

As a result of this, the most popular time-passer and sports is Combat. Similar to earth, there are factions that can be chosen from. This includes Secutor, Retiarius, Murmillo, Thraex, and more. I’ll go into detail later what they are. The most noticeable difference here is death. The sport was fighting, not killing. If a gladiator kills their opponent(s), they are to be imprisoned.

Retiarius: Max’s usual choice, this follows the style of a fisherman. Armed with light armor, a weighted net, and a trident, these are the hardest factions to survive with, as they serve no body protection.

Secutor: Secutor are armed with a large shield, known as a Scutum, and a gladius or dagger. They have balanced armor, and are similar to Murmillos.

Murmillo: These are armed with spears or a sword, and a round shield. Murmillos are the most recognized, think every time you saw a Mohawk helmet. Murmillos we’re most known for their helmets, usually with Mohawks or metal versions of the former.

Thraex: The most armored, these carried small rectangular shields, and a curved sword called a Sica. This was the easiest to survive with, because of the thick armor it provided.
