Is there a word that’s like the polar opposite of close but even greater than “far”

That’s all I could think of
I think that’s a synonym for far but it also works.
I couldn’t think of anything greater than “far” since far could mean any distance that’s far away, if it’s just a 5 hour drive away or if it’s 3,000 light years away.
Yeah that’s fair, there’s probably a word but it’s probably really long and obscure to the point where nobody uses it

I thought further was for abstract things, like non physical distances and rather “He’s further down the path of adulthood” (an example), and stuff like that
