Epitaph was practically a perfect noder but look what happened to him
We dont even know what online people act like irl
If a new talented noder showed up, yeah I would be interested in their content but i wouldnt necessarily stan or listen to everything they have to say.

That was unfortunate but it doesn’t means that everyone will turn out that way, when it comes to irl stuff that people is not willing to share their stories and their personal life if not why do we even use this kind of usernames anyway? privacity is a thing and their personal life and what they do on the site doesn’t directly reflect to their actions.
That said there are many cases where you find a person being some sort of XYZ terrible persons with terrible personalities only when someone exposes them for their bad behaviour.
However you will always have some kind of hint or something to look before you deposit your trust in such a person you just need to pay close attention and you will not be fooled.
Absolutely not, it’s the same tale as the fitness industry and if someone is big and strong they are the best or have the best physique, it’s not about the general value of things but rather how far you can go with your own workings, we all have different styles and ways of doing things and so in the case of artwork being as differentiating as it is, there is and likely never will be a best creator on SN.
Even users such as Jackfly work within the boundaries of their style and have refined it to such a high level, to ask more than that however to the same level would likely be not possible or at the very least not within a short timespan.
As for influence that can come down to many things but unless there is real reason to be influential such as financial gain, very very few will reach a truly high status. That’s why with big projects in the works nowadays there is a chance SN will see some financial gain and prompt more users to push the standards of what’s possible etc.

I think the wording i used could be wrong but what i mean is to follow the guy and see how far he can go, as he is an inspiration not only to you but for many out there in the community where you are willing to support him and encourage the guy so he keeps up with his own work where you also get motivation from to work on yours as well.
Back then we had fearless and he was one of the kickstarters of this site as to what it is today. He brough many users together and with those he raised generations above his head before moving on.
Even if he wasn’t aware of his own reputation back then he was unoficially number 1, without even noticing how big of a impact he was to the whole community.
And when he realized what he got into, he just moved on and dissapeared he really was not up to the task and honestly its kinda scary to say the least.

I can’t say I know much of that, don’t even know who ‘fearless’ is but what I will say is, any given person needs to want to improve, you can prompt this sure as we have before but for the most part it comes down to being a collaborative effort.
Thing is, newer users nowadays have less interest in all that, being a good animator and making YT videos etc was cool stuff a while back and is probably why some of us have built the interest to want to build a reputation and improve but the current generation is more about consuming content but not giving anything back.
We will see how things go but for now I’d say we’re going through a pretty standard point, it could be better but we’ve got what we have so we’ll just have to make do for now and focus on working on our own stuff.
as much as im interested in this site, the animation part of it kinda fell of for me
i kept getting headaches near every time and i need to get that checked
following from what revenant said, i don’t follow bigger noder anyways
sure talking to them every once in a while is a nice experience for me, but do i really have to follow everything they say?
it also ties into my self image, if that person ends up have a sick and twisted mindset, someone later can bring up the fact I used to talk to them and how am i supposed to defend myself? how am i supposed to say that, in a way people will understand, that i don’t defend that person’s actions.
it’s practically a fuckover for me, and i just want to be happy here
but no fandom is truly happy, you always have pedophiles and homophobic people and racists and neo-nazis, and it feels like i get reeled into that trap everytime i talk to someone new here. im always just cautious, causing me to lose a lot of connections.
content wise, fuck yeah.
i would follow their advice (if any), but not necessarily comment on it directly. if it’s a good friend of mine, which is unlikely, im throwing down the gauntlet and giving them those same tips a long with my own. if they turn up to be a rotten, disgusting carrot, then by all means i would back away. it just hurts me, knowing that someone with great talent is also some dark, twisted asshole.
but long story short, content wise i would trust. interaction wise, they need to fuck off.
sorry that was a lot of words and letters

Yeah is pretty easy nowadays to get deceived. i don’t really know how people can act like nothing is wrong with themselves and when they get checked the whole world burns apart.
Good to know your thoughs, thanks for the comment.

Can someone tell me what happened to epitath?
He was amazing. His animations were epic. His stickfigures were useful and high quality.
But guess what
He was a disgusting pedophile
Oh
THE PEDOPHILE COULD BE ANY ONE OF US,IT COULD BE YOU,IT COULD BE ME,IT COULD EVEN B-
you do realize that even if you were funny you shouldn’t joke about people who emotionallly manipulate children for their own pleasure
