i wanna share something
im 12 y/o right now (almost 13 and actually allowed to be on this site)
i grew up with a lot of people who weren’t like,, MrBeast
i never even watched mrbeast or zhc, or SkyDoesMinecraft or Unspeakablei grew up watching SuperMega, RoosterTeeth, AchievementHunter, DanTDM, Stampy, Dunkey, GameGrumps and JonTron
even Alan Beckerive watched series’ like Camp Camp, a little bit of RWBY, Red vs. Blue, Animator vs. Animation, BFDI, Llamas with Hats and Charlie the Unicorn
whenever i talk to the friends i do have outside of the internet about these creators and series’, most of them are like ‘whats that?’when I got to middle school, I still got that same reaction
but I did find two people who know these and it warmed my heart knowing that there are still people I can relate to
i lost a lot of friends over the summer, so it was a huge breakthrough to me and it’s awesome not having to introduce something i enjoy every five seconds to someonei found this out when i became friends with the kids in my band classroom
the kid who sat next to me was watching PointCrow, and I asked him who else he watched
he introduced me to his other friend who had the same taste and now we’re really closethat is how i made my first real friend.
i wish i could make more friends like this, but everyone at my school experiences brain rot with tiktok and it just makes me sad that not many people can relate on the same creatorsthank you ricky and joseph for being my first real friends

I’m surprised somebody as young as you actually watched Red vs Blue, BFDI, and stampylonghead (Given, I’m not the oldest guy either so) those are some great classics, stuff even I used to watch as a kid.
It’s great you’ve found a friend group with the same interests, such connections are often the most personal and closely tied. I’m happy for you.
It’s sad to say but a lot of things people have interest in, me included, may seem really popular when looking at it but are actually really niche when compared to the mainstream stuff. Just gotta look for the gems in the rough, TikTok brain rot is definitely widespread but not universal.
Man its the same thing here, ive been 13 for like 3 months now
I do online school after i got sick but when i did normal school, everyone was more focused on attention grabbing and being childish.
I grew up with Alan Becker, hes like my inspiration, Stickman Tournament videos, DanTDM, and those old Stickman games like Anger of Stick 5 or Stickman Battlefields. I also loved Smosh videos alot when I was 6-8.
When i look at others my age, I even wonder how the hell they were the same age as me.
I dont even know what the fuck is wrong with every teen and why doing shitty or wrong stuff has become a norm
Like, how can no one my age just somehow not know of (for example) Uncharted franchise, Arkham franchise, MatPat, Stampy, Smosh, and just other famous genres that have been a thing for more than 3 years.
Its like their brain is hardwired tk only know of shitty social media stuff from the past 3 years
Enough complaining about that anyways
