I have my own theories and I personally believe glitchtrap is a Manifestation of Williams memories or it could be himself also taking a look at the guides it refers to glitchtrap as William afton in all of the guides and even in the character encyclopedia and it also refers to Vanessa as an agent of afton

You say this as if the character encyclopedia and other guides are uncontroversial sources. Plus i think the guides may have been trying to avoid spoilers, I’ve heard one of the guides did that for The Fourth Closet.
