somewhat related to my last post why do you get less presents the older you get like wtf
it feels less like a celebration the older you get cause like, say youre like 25 and all you get is a card and less gifts than you did before
i think you should be getting more gifts the older you get because like its a massive achievement to survive 25 years, no???? anyone else think that

Mostly because you’re an adult and more independent
yeah but more independent doesnt mean i have spending money to spend on myself
it means i have enough for groceries, living expenses and small things to make me happier
not gifts
I would prefer gift cards cause then I can just get what I desire in the current moment
yk what, that makes sense
As you get older you receive less gifts and eventually become the gift giver. Then if you live long enough, you get more and better gifts again in the form of longevity of life celebrations or personal vacation/take yourself out. (think “Happy 100!” or going out to dinner with your friends for your 40th)
+ Gifts don’t really have to be a certain quantity or be extravagant. This past Christmas I got clothes and money, and for my birthday a little more than a month later I just got money. As you grow older default gift starts to lean towards money/giftcards unless it’s like a personal gift from somebody who knows you well.
fair enough
