time for another ✨update✨

(…mostly a ✨mental health update✨ because i figured i worried some of y’all)
first of all: anxiety
how is that going? about usual because it’s only been a few days
anxiety doesn’t just vanish but i’ve been finding new ways to deal with it
breathing always helps
since anxiety is deep within the concept/disorder: an underlying stress/fear rooted in the lack of control, people who have it often find solace within: dissociation (checking out), music, and a feeling of control within their surroundings

it’s how ocd works, the compulsivity comes from a need to control their surroundings– rooted in severe anxiety
chaos/uncertainty is anxiety’s instigator, so the cure is a sense of order/certainty.
It’s weird how this applies to me because my standards and beliefs line up with the opposite of “order” and yet what i require for functionality is just a sense of calm
music and breathing, calm thoughts

i find it funny the best representation of anxiety i’ve ever seen was about a mexican cat trying to find a fallen star so he could save his own life

so, we need a secret story update

i tried to include a lot of stuff in it, some of my favorite artists, songs i don’t listen to a lot, lesser known artists and stuff that nails the feeling of the story as well as the characters
the whole thing allowed me to really expand my tastes
it’s still mostly indie/alternative music tho
found a few new artists who i absolutely love listening to now and lesser known songs from my favorite artists
penelope scott especially, love her music (public void is an incredible album)

currently my favorite musical artist is definitely mitski, absolutely adore EVERYTHING she makes and i can’t recommend any musician more than i can recommend mitski
really hoping to see her live in september, since she has a concert right around the time of my birthday
just that when things get overwhelming, i listen to music, and it’s usually mitski
