    👻 DownwardGhostly 👻

Welcome back everyone, interviews Episode 6 now here and ready for your enjoyment, let’s begin..

Our guest of the evening, talented traditional artist, master of non-drama, keeper of peace, all around just a bro, DownwardGhostly ! DG ! This has been an interview I’ve been looking forward to getting around to so I’m glad we have this opportunity today.

Without further ado let’s get the ball rolling !

    ▫️◽️◻️❔ Questions ❔◻️◽️▫️

    0️⃣1️⃣

Following typical interview fashion we should ask some opening questions, get some names named, thoughts heard and more.. Mr DownwardGhostly, how are you today brother? Well I hope.

    0️⃣2️⃣

Want to get some more information about our guests from a personal perspective, DG, how would you describe yourself here? Anything in particular you feel you should say if you were to be asked such a question?

    0️⃣3️⃣

This is one of those reoccurring questions but one we all feel inclined to be curious with often, How did you get your name? What is so Ghostly about you and why is it directional?

    0️⃣4️⃣

Despite joining only two years ago you already have amassed over 100 submissions and quite the reputation for yourself as a skilled traditional artist, is there any motivation to this consistency or is it just something you enjoy?

    0️⃣5️⃣

This might be silly question but for anyone not clued up with lore on ‘ The White ‘ – Zombie Series, what is it about and how did you find yourself getting into it to begin with?

    0️⃣6️⃣

Out of all the stopmotion animations I have seen from users across the years, yours is definitely one of the more invested ones with plenty of hours, frames and work poured into it, do you have any intentions of getting back into it after a 10 month gap?

    0️⃣7️⃣

What prompted your interest in traditional art? Was there ever a point where you felt inclined to choose between traditional or digital? Maybe you can even do both well?

    0️⃣8️⃣

Would you say your interests towards art has lead you to have any career interests relating to art?

    0️⃣9️⃣

You’ve had somewhat of a track record with religion and such, do you follow it closely in your day-to-day life? Go to church etc?

    1️⃣0️⃣

Do you play any video games at all? Maybe any board games?

    1️⃣1️⃣

    Any favourite shows or films?

    1️⃣2️⃣

If you had to collab with any Stick Nodes member for 1. An animation, 2. A Stickfigure, 3. Artwork, who would it be and why?

    1️⃣3️⃣

You’ve mentioned your commitments before, school in particular, do you think you’re at a place that you’d want to be with your learning?

    1️⃣4️⃣

If you can, name something off of your bucket list, given you have one.

    1️⃣5️⃣

If you could immediately inherit any skill, what would it be?

☑️ The conclusion of the interview ☑️

This was a lot of fun to put together, researching into your projects, looking at your submissions and stop motion animations, beyond what I had already seen it’s good to find out more with your friends and generally just other people’s interests.

Hopefully this interview was touching on the right topics, until next time.

    Take care man !

I’m doing great Tastylemon16, thank for asking. I hope you are doing likewise.

I think, my presence on the site is honestly that of a sideline observer. So many people on this site are such interesting characters and a unique set of personalities, but I prefer to just be layback and watch the show. It’s always insane seeing how new users are reaching milestones, 1 year, 2 years, or more- it makes me feel old. Then again, I did spend 3 years off of sticknodes, so I don’t think I can be granted the right to be called a veteran. I like a lot of people here, and there’s others that personally annoy me or I’m indifferent about, but i hope that i have a decent state of relations with everybody here. I’m coming up on my 5th year on sticknodes website accounting for my older accounts.

It’s derived from my Roblox username, Ghostlyspooky. The ghostly part of it is, however, the downward part is honestly just something I came up with. It’s actually because my great grandfather from Africa inherited the name from the village chief after felling a lion, the downward thrust of his spear sent the beast’s spirit into the heavens- hence downward, or ወደ ታች, ghostly, በመንፈስ. The surname was passed down for many generations, and irl I’m called downwardghostly the IV. Yes this is bullshit, haha if you read it.

I’m not gonna sugar coat it, half of those submissions are just states. God bless the monotonous cheat code of submitting the United States stickfigures. Before hand I wanted to keep a 1 stickfigure per month schedule, submitting madness stuff, and later The White stickfigures to the site. However, I got pressed for time this last autumn and since then the streak has fell off. However, I want to keep getting better at art, animation, and stickfigure-making not only for the benefit of others but also myself to bring into fruition the things formulated by my imagination.

Oh, Helmet’s The White Zombie Series is the coolest thing on this site imo, it spoke volumes to me with the simplistic style yet expansive world with military, zombies, and apocalypse. I’m not the type of guy to make my own series or groups typically but I sure as hell love helping prop up and partake in others that peak my interest.
I love military, war, and the like.

      0️⃣6️⃣
Yes. The army is still in storage, taking up a full plastic tub container (and then some of another). This Summer will definitely be one of innumerable projects and fun. Though I don’t have any new editing software, cameras, or even settings, I think I can make it work. Wow, 10 months. Time flies by fast.

I’m cooked at digital art. I’ll leave that domain to the likes of Asry, Chino, and Tellure. I mean, hypothetically, I could learn if I got a drawing tablet, but then again- starting from the ground up. I’ve always liked drawing stickfigures throughout my life ever since i was young, I even have a tutorial on a forbidden YT channel NONE of you are ever accessing or getting your hands, ever (Ever), about drawing some.
I still have a long ways to go with traditional art but I think I can improve further. The only things I can use though is graphite and ink and pen. I did make a killer acorn house though once from a clay sculpture (if you ever want to see just ask).

      0️⃣8️⃣
Most definitely, but I’ve still have yet to decide what I’m going to pursue in secondary education. It’s between history and art to be honest, or some generic one with high growth prospects like computer science (bleh…)

      0️⃣9️⃣
Thank the Lord when I wake up, thank him for safe-passage throughout my day before I go to sleep, and grace (when I remember) before I eat. I attend Church whenever I can on Wednesday and Sunday, and try to follow the principles and guidance laid out by the Bible for how Christian’s should dictate our lives.

      1️⃣0️⃣
Yes, I’ve played video games since I was a kid. I had a PS3 (Now a few hundred miles away in my Grandmother’s basement), still have my Xbox One, and ran through a couple PCs (mostly $200 low-end office laptops that can barely one Roblox). I know how to play chess, used to play Sorry, uno, and the like.

      1️⃣1️⃣
Tough one… favorite show of all-time… you can’t hear it but the amount of ehhh and other contemplation noises being uttered in my room rn as I think about this is crazy. Red vs Blue by Rooster Teeth is probably be favorite show- a HALO machinima webseries. I don’t have a favorite film but from the few movies I’ve watched i can pick off the top of my head some like Stalingrad 1993, Hotel Rwanda, Despicable me, rise of gru.

      1️⃣2️⃣

      1. Helmet, he’s my favorite animator. I’d love to help him animate something, see how he does it, or provide him tips.
      2. That guy, he’s absolutely cracked. And his usage of gradients is insane- i would appreciate the experience to learn from the grandmaster.
      3. Asry, I really respect Asry for their dedication going forth and creating their own manga. The improvement in drawing is phenomenal, quality of their work is great. Overall very talented artist I’d love working with.

      1️⃣3️⃣

No. I want to be at a place where I’m sleeping, LOL.
Nah but for real, I think that I’ve been doing good academically. I won’t post any stats for needless flamboyance but my GPA is doing fine and I’m just praying that I can get a 5 on a upcoming AP exam on Thursday and consecutive A’s in my math class for our final major grades.

      After this schoolyear is over…

      1️⃣4️⃣
Get a good PC that can run Roblox. To be done date? 2077. I’ll get back to you on that one.

Nah jk, just staying healthy. (But fr though, I have screenshots of my pc on 0.0 fps, deadass)

      1️⃣5️⃣
      The skill to draw good.
