Something I don’t understand about English. I really need to say this for some reason.
You know the word extraordinary? Big word, right? Firstly, its pronounced ex-straw-danary for some weird reason.
So let’s google “extraordinary.”
“very unusual or remarkable.”
WHATIf you break the word into two, you get these two words: Extra and ordinary. Ordinary = usual and extra = to a greater extent than usual. Thus meaning extra and ordinary would mean, EVEN MORE ORDINARY, right? well no you’re wrong
IT MEANS UNUSUAL OR REMARKABLE?WHAT!!!!
It literally has the word “ordinary” in it, yet it means the exact opposite.
I’m done
you made me confused
extra ordinary would mean even more ordinary right? nope, it means unusual
Well, deal with, it’s English. You say Kansas like Kan-sas but you say Arkansas like Ar-Ken-Saw…. So yeah
I live in Arkansas, fun fact.
I agree
